About Us

Cutsforth’s Mission & Values

Our History

Cutsforth was founded in 1991 with the primary focus of producing and installing replacement brush holders for generators and exciters. Our experience in this area positioned us as a leading provider of power-generation maintenance services, and over the course of more than 30 years in business we’ve expanded our offerings to develop best-in-class excitation brush holders, expert shaft grounding replacement processes, and powerful condition monitoring solutions. The quality of our offerings is amply illustrated by more than 1,200 utility and energy producing customers using our products and services worldwide.

In 2010, Cutsforth began focusing on the development of predictive maintenance technologies, introducing sensor-based monitoring and data analytics to our product line. In 2022, we made two key acquisitions to broaden our predictive maintenance and machine-health monitoring solutions: InsightCM™, our flagship, open software was purchased from NI (formerly National Instruments), and we purchased Woyshner Services Company (WSC) to provide additional expertise in the innovation and implementation of our monitoring and diagnostic systems for customers across multiple industries.

In 2025, Cutsforth obtained $16 million in growth funding to accelerate the development of our predictive maintenance solutions. This funding is intended to further our efforts in research and development, condition-monitoring product innovation, and expanding the use of our product and services into new industrial markets.
